See the below chart and see how they call it for their OOB management interface but they do same job. sometime interface might difference and features are not same like others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each vendors have multiple methods to reset their own IPMI modules. Here we are talking about how it&#8217;s work on GUI. Sometime we have seen GUI is not availble to perform this we will have to use different approach to reset. SuperMicro <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are a SuperMicro customer here is the steps that can reset the BMC controller via WebUI. If you want to reset the BIOS Factory default will be your option. select preserve configuration or remove settings as per the requirement. Say <strong>YES<\/strong> and wait few minutes until BMC rebooted properly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>======================================================================================================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong>3. IBM (Integrated Management Module : IMM)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most of you might have worked with IBM servers, now most of the servers we see in the field are Lenovo, because they acquired part of IBM. This is how you could restart IMM through the GUI. I will explain how management controller can be restart in Lenovo nodes next below. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Login to the IMM. Lenovo Systems <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lenovo XClarity (XCC) is the management plane of the IPMI interface of the node. This provides IT engineers to access the Lenovo hardware remotely to manage their infrastructure. Most of the cases resetting this controller is required. I will show you how to restart the BMC controller through XCC interface. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The steps are pretty much the same as those for other vendors. You must access XClarity (XCC) through the IP and log in using the credential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&lt;The default username and password for the Lenovo XClarity Controller (XCC) is&nbsp;<mark>USERID and PASSW0RD<\/mark>&nbsp;respectively.&nbsp;Note that the &#8220;0&#8221; in PASSW0RD is a zero, not the letter &#8220;O&#8221;<\/em> &gt;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Navigate to the Quick actions in Home page (See the exhibit below)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">There will be a drop-down, and click on <strong>Restart Management Controller<\/strong> to reset the BMC of the Lenovo nodes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Once it is being reset, you will be logged out and wait 2-3minutes until reset id done. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"494\" src=\"https:\/\/systemsmedic.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/XCC-1024x494.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-496\" srcset=\"https:\/\/systemsmedic.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/XCC-1024x494.png 1024w, https:\/\/systemsmedic.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/XCC-300x145.png 300w, https:\/\/systemsmedic.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/XCC-768x370.png 768w, https:\/\/systemsmedic.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/XCC-1536x741.png 1536w, https:\/\/systemsmedic.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/XCC-2048x988.png 2048w, https:\/\/systemsmedic.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/XCC-600x289.png 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>======================================================================================================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong>5. Dell Servers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dell servers have their own interface to manage the nodes remotely. This is called <strong>Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller (iDRAC)<\/strong>. Latest version the iDRAC is version 9 but I have screenshots from version 8 which is previous version.
